Things are brewing and plans are changing. Are these good things?
Jason Foux and I have been hard at work to plan the upcoming Mac & Mills story. After much deliberation, it has occurred to us that we cannot possibly write a story together. Our characters can't work together long-term. Such a story would be forced. With our writing styles, even the authors would probably not give up full control any more than our characters would.
Where does that leave us? If we can't write a story together, what can we do? After all, I did promise everyone we would do it. I introduced you to the characters and said this thing would be done.
Easy. We won't give you one story, but two. Without giving away too much of the plot, here's what is currently brewing:
Setting of the main plot: New Orleans (why? Because the Blurry Photos Podcast had an AMAZING intro on a Patreon episode that I have permission to reuse word for word and it talks about New Orleans).
Mills will end up in New Orleans for reasons I can't tell you and stumble across something that is going on there. Mac will go to New Orleans on purpose to look for something that is tied in to the thing going on.
The characters will cross paths briefly in the beginning but not know or speak to each other. Will the characters end up speaking to one another? Will they be able to do anything together? I'm mute on that point.
I can tell you that this will be a fun experiment. We are writing a story each from our own characters' points of view with mention of the other character. We will have the same timeline though we actually have different goals for each.
During our planning sessions, it sounds like it's going to be a fun ride. I'm still hoping to get the stories on the website by the end of April but that will really depend on our schedules. One of us may be able to sit down and bash out a short story over the weekend but we can't put in anything that might change a story point for the other person. It's tricky but I think we can work it out. I also think you will enjoy both stories!
In the meantime, I will try to get new stories out each week. I may have to rely on posting stories from my archives you haven't read yet, but my goal is to do that only as a last resort. I'm still taking requests and prompts though there is a bit of a backlog. Still, you never know what might kick start a story in my head!
Thank you to everyone who has been following along and reading the stories. I hope you're enjoying them! Always feel free to comment here, on Twitter or Facebook!
Where I tell you things you may want to know.
