2018 will be filled with more stories! How can you get your hands on them?!
2017 is OVER. Some of us are very, very glad to get a 'fresh start' and others had a good year and may be sad to see it go. No matter which side of the fence you were on, it's time to think ahead to what we want in this new year.
I want to create more stories and give them to you! Life sort of...happened...as it normally does and I wasn't quite prepared for the tumult. Obviously the blog suffered due to this. I was still writing, just not sharing. It got to the point where many of you assumed my story making days had ended before it truly began.
NO SUCH LUCK! You are stuck with me. If you actually come to this blog, you are either a masochist or like my stories (or me. I do a have a few people out there who will make that claim). You can expect badly written prose to pour out at a more regular interval now. I hope it won't be the equivalent to water torture, but I cannot promise anything.
Here's how the schedule looks right now:
- Monday: new blog post about whatever I want it to be about and call for prompts
- Tues-Wed: beg for prompts. Failing that, I turn towards my bag of tricks
- Thurs-Sat: write the dang thing. Depending on how that week goes, it could be one day of writing or all 3
- Sun: post new story and send out newsletter
Will it change? Maybe. Life is a fluid substance and I cannot say more than I plan to have a new story out every Sunday. If you don't want to check back each week, sign up for the newsletter and I'll simply email you whatever I've churned out that week as well as give you a few inside bits on upcoming fanciness.
Though it may seem I'm only writing a few days a week, I assure you this is not true. I've been working on a bigger piece that is taking up some of my time. I'm writing daily, but I can't post everything I write.
I hope 2018 will be kind to us all but let's at least be kind to each other, okay? This doesn't mean rolling over and accepting whatever happens. You may have to fight for yourself and for others. Being kind isn't being weak. Being kind these days means standing up for what's right. The playground bullies are back, ladies and gents, and they have a great deal of power. Stand up for your fellow humans and we may get through this together.
Also, I want to tell you what I posted on Twitter and Facebook (it's important enough to repeat):
Do you have anything you've been waiting to do? Waiting until the time was right or you were faster/better/smarter/thinner/richer?
Don't wait. Start now.
Yes, you might fail, but you might not. Either way, you're learning & living instead of waiting for a mythical right time.
