Want updates on September writing plans? Curious about the Secret Short Story Society? Read on!
Life moves fast, doesn't it? I'm trying to update the blog monthly and the stories weekly, but I think I missed some time in between. Since I'm fairly certain I've not been abducted by aliens and suffered no comas, you probably want to know what's going on!
First off, the Secret Short Story Society members received their first package/issue! I heard nice things from those who signed up and have a few people interested in getting this package! For those who want to start with Issue #1, I've set up a listing on my Etsy page until I find a better way. You can always donate to my Ko-Fi or Patreon page ($5 gets you the story, $15 gets you the package). Clicking the Etsy link will show you what I sent in the last package. Keep in mind that you will need to donate monthly to get that month's story. I will post a link on Etsy once I have Issue #2 ready to go, but it's honestly better to use Ko-Fi or Patreon as a recurring payment. If you like Paypal better, please contact me and we can set something up.
I know I've been talking quite a bit about S4 lately, but it's a fun project and just when I think I've got it all figured out, someone throws me a curve ball. Just know that I WANT to bring you stories this way, but I can't do it for free. I will continue to post free stories on this website, but I'll go broke mailing things from my own account. You are not required to send me money to read my work, just to get the extra goodies S4 brings.
Speaking of free stories, you're now wanting to know WHEN WILL I ADD MORE STORIES TO THE SITE? Ummm...soon? I've been playing catch-up here lately and most of my writing time has been given over to editing a longer piece. I'm also reading the work of various friends and family members as well as setting up for Inktober/Drawtober...whatever term we decided on! It is also taking on a new shape and I need to be there for those decisions and changes as well.
Life always gets hectic around this time of year, so I'm not surprised the short story side has suffered. However, there may be a hurricane blowing into my area this weekend and, as long as I don't lose power, I can easily sit down and type out a short story for Monday. No one has given me a prompt in quite a while, so it'll need to be something I come up with or I need to finally get the Ettin story bashed out since Gorilla with a Brush was so kind to let me use the photo of his painted miniature. (the reason the Ettin story isn't done is story unto itself that I plan to tell when I actually have the piece finished)
I AM STILL TAKING PROMPTS! THAT IS WHAT THIS WAS SET UP FOR SO SEND ME PROMPTS!
I think that's all the news I have for now. If you have questions, comments, prompt or lucrative writing contracts you know how to reach me!
