When you REALLY don't want to keep putting out new content, what do you do? DELEGATE!
I've already told you bits and pieces about what I'm doing this year. October will find me working with the INCREDIBLY talented Indiscriminate Art. Jason Foux, writer extraordinaire, has agreed to let me post some of his work AND collaborate on a story with me. HOW CAN A GIRL GET SO LUCKY?!
Actually, it's pretty simple. Both are my dear friends whom I love and one has been my partner for nigh on 9 years. Both are so beyond talented that I should, by rights, hate them. (*shrugs* What can I say? I am a petty person).
I do have other very talented friends who I hope to rope into this mess, but let's not get too greedy just yet. (I'm looking at you, Mayday and A.M. Dawds)
To be honest, I have so many friends with such talent that I'm not sure how I'm able to even classify what I do as creative. I feel it's like I'm at the VERY bottom of the list, but I'm still on the list!
I am getting the tiniest bit off topic. I want to break down what you have to look forward to so far.
February: Just me posting old stories (sorry)
March: Interview with Jason and Jericho Mills introductions.
April: COLLABORATION STORY! (might be posted at the end of April, depending on the schedules of the authors)
May-August: Me with NEW STORIES (unless I can rope someone else in)
September: Interview with Indiscriminate Art w/ artwork samples!
October: Inktober collaboration ALL MONTH!
Nov: Last of the collabs (we'll be posting on a delay)
Dec: More of me but IA & I will have a surprise for you (also thanks to Jason bc, like all Renaissance men, he is multi-talented)
If you're wondering why the Inktober collabs will be on delay, it's because:
- IA has to draw the thing based on that day's prompt
- She has to get it to me
- I have look at the art and write a story based off of that instead of just the daily prompt
- I am a procrastinator who will probably give IA more time than either of needs so I can lazily not write
- I have to post the stuff on the website and format it properly
- WE ARE HUMAN BEINGS AND NOT CREATIVE MACHINES!
Mostly it's that it will take a few days for us to get all the pieces together. If all goes well, I'm hoping for no more than a 3 day delay but I do have to give IA at least a full day to draw and I ask at least that long to write the story.
This is the schedule. Will it remain the same? Who knows? Life has an odd way of looking at my plans then immediately putting them into a shredder headed for outer space.
I can promise new shorts starting in May since the first draft of the novel I'm working on should be wrapped up by then. If nothing else, I have a small backlog of prompts given to me by you lovely people. I will be getting back to them soon! Always feel free to give me more!
