A good friend of mine challenged me to write a 221B story. If I remember correctly, the goal was to write a Holmes story containing 221 words and ending the whole thing with the letter B.
I FAILED that challenge bc I couldn't stop writing. Below is the story I wrote. Forgive any non-Holmesian characteristics. (From my archives)
Not going to lie. This story is not new. It's maybe less than you deserve but my writing time is being taken up by a bigger project. This was a piece written in college, so you can compare how much or little my writing has changed.
At the end will be a BADLY Word created 'cover'. Back in college, I used to really believe creating covers made my work more legitimate. Unfortunately, I had little skill and fewer tools to make them!
I promised you a story, didn't I? I'm delivering...though I have to admit it is NOT the story I was planning on writing. That story is being INCREDIBLY difficult and you deserve better. Well, not MUCH better since you're reading my stuff, but still you should still get a COMPLETE story.
This isn't exactly a fiction story. It's more of a thought that flitted through my head and asked to be written.
I was thinking about stories as the word applies to buildings and was reminded of what I used to believe. I decided to finally look the word up and see how it related to the stories we tell. Below the break line you will see where that took me.
My lofty dreams of being a famous & brilliant writer were literally smacked out of my head. Now I plan to fill the void with copious amounts of subpar writing!
